Katie Ball, BA, CPC
Prevention Specialist Lead
McLaren Prevention Services
Katie Ball is the Prevention Specialist Lead at McLaren Prevention Services and the Coordinator for the Bay County Prevention Network. She is responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing a wide array of programs and strategies in the arena of substance misuse prevention throughout Bay County.
Katie served nine years in the Army Reserves and three years as an SUD (Substance Use Disorder) Counselor prior to becoming a Prevention Specialist. She holds an associate degree in criminal justice from Delta College, a bachelor’s in psychology from American Military University, and is a Certified Prevention Specialist. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her husband and five children. Katie’s favorite hobby is roller derby.

Hannah Darr
Public Health Promotion & Prevention Supervisor
Berrien County Health Department
As the Public Health Promotion & Prevention Supervisor at the Berrien County Health Department, Hannah coordinates a small but mighty team of Prevention Specialists who work to prevent substance use among youth in the county.
She earned her degree in Master of Nonprofit Administration (MNA) from the University of Notre Dame, Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of North Carolina, and Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science from Purdue University.
In her free time, Hannah enjoys spending time with her family, two dogs, playing tennis, and running.

Paige George
Executive Director
South Lyon Community Coalition (SLCC)
Paige George is the Executive Director of the South Lyon Community Coalition (SLCC), helping youth make healthy choices and avoid substance use. After earning her BA from Hope College, Paige built a career in advertising followed by chamber of commerce work. A Narcan training revealed a gap in local prevention programming, prompting her to found SLCC in 2020.
Outside of work, Paige's heart belongs to her family, friends, and a good adventure — she loves to travel and cherishes time spent with the people closest to her.

Vicky Loveland
Development Coordinator
Monroe County Substance Abuse Coalition | United Way of Monroe County
Vicky Loveland is the Development Coordinator for the Monroe County Substance Abuse Coalition. She has been with this Coalition and its parent organization, the United Way of Monroe County, for over ten years now. This Coalition is dedicated to decreasing substance use and abuse among youth.
Vicky has a Master of Social Work (MSW), a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), and is a Certified Prevention Specialist.
Vicky is married with three children who are active in many different sports and activities. She loves to spend time supporting, attending, and cheering on her kids at their events. Outside of this, she enjoys reading and is a reality TV junkie.

Christa Merritt
Health Educator
Mid-Michigan District Health Department, Montcalm County
Christa Merritt is a Health Educator at the Mid-Michigan District Health Department for Montcalm County. She is a Certified Prevention Specialist and a recognized Emergency Medical Technician.
She is responsible for supporting local recovery programs, providing prevention education in the local districts, and a team member for both the Adult Recovery Court and Veterans Court, along with providing substance use prevention programs/education throughout the community.
Christa holds a bachelor’s degree in Integrated Studies from Ferris State University, an associate’s degree in Business Management and a Certificate in Banking from Davenport University. She is also a trained facilitator for Project Success, Too Good for Drugs, School Naloxone Overdose Trainer, and a Community Resiliency Model Trainer.
In her downtime, she enjoys activities with her three sons and husband, being outdoors, fishing, riding motorcycles, camping, and spending quality time with friends.

Shay Tullar is the Prevention Coordinator at Ten Sixteen Recovery Network for Mecosta County. In her work with Ten Sixteen, she oversees the prevention efforts in 7 counties across the state of Michigan. Shay has been with Ten16 for eight years. She is both a dedicated member of her local prevention coalition for over 16 years and serves as the facilitator for the Mecosta Osceola Substance Awareness Coalition (MOSAC).
Shay earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Michigan State University and became a Certified Prevention Consultant (CPC) through the Michigan Certification Board of Addiction Professionals in 2020.
Shay is deeply passionate for her community and heavily involved in many local endeavors. She serves not only as a member-at-large for a variety of different community groups, but recently held the roles of vice chair for the local Human Services Collaborative and former vice president on the local homeless shelter’s Board of Directors. Ever the educator and always striving to improve her community, Shay is also a weekly facilitator for a men’s Batterer’s Intervention course.
Shay has been a strong advocate for harm reduction practices in her community. She has supported anti-stigma efforts including educational trainings and anti-stigma media campaigns, and has led the coalition in its efforts to reduce the stigma surrounding SUD (substance use disorder).
In her free time, Shay stays busy with her partner and their very active toddler. They love camping, beach days, and barbecues and appreciate any excuse to be outside together.

Mike Tobias
Program Coordinator
Michigan Coalition to Reduce Underage Drinking (MCRUD)
Mike Tobias is the Coordinator for the Michigan Coalition to Reduce Underage Drinking (MCRUD) and has been employed with Prevention Network since June 2010. He is also a current board member of the Michigan Council on Alcohol Problems (MICAP).
For leisure he enjoys camping, fishing, reading, attending concerts and sporting events, traveling, and spending time with his family. He has been in long term recovery for over 35 years, has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Michigan, and is a Certified Prevention Consultant.
